Our vision for small groups is to become a church where no one stands alone. We all need people we can go to for help when times are tough and to celebrate when things are good.
Our small groups meet twice a month in homes throughout the community. Group topics include studies on Marriage, Growing in Christ, Spiritual Disciplines and books of the Bible. All groups are open to new members but new groups and new studies are starting all the time. The driving force behind these groups is to fulfill the five purposes of the church as set down in Scripture (Acts 2:42-47).
1. WORSHIP
- Finding ways the group can glorify God: Prayer, music, helping others to learn the biblical view of worship.
2. FELLOWSHIP
- Finding ways to bring the group closer together as the family of God: Planning special events, retreats, birthdays or anniversaries within the group.
3. DISCIPLESHIP
- Finding ways to help the group grow closer to Christ: Bible studies, memorizing scripture, attending services, devotions.
4. SERVICE
- Finding ways that the group can serve others: Ministries in the church or community as a group. Ministering to each other in times of need.
5. OUTREACH
- Reaching the unchurched for the cause of Christ: Missions, outreach to the community, and group focus on loving new group members.
These purposes are to be fulfilled as a group and individually in our own lives. In a small group you can ask questions and hear others share their insights. You will discover ways to apply God's Word to your personal situation and that happens best in a Small Group. We don't need just another lesson we need changed lives!
