Highway To Recovery
Wayne Mitchell accepted Christ at the age of seven in a Baptist Church in Arlington, Washington. He lived a rebellious life and fell away from church and the Lord. In his early twenties, he became addicted to alcohol. He later met Julie, whom he married and they decided to go to church. They began attending Open Door Baptist Church and in time, became members. He continued to struggle with this addiction and temptation to drink. However, his commitment to Christ, his church, and the ministry helped him overcome those old habits. He finally enrolled and completed the Bible Institute provided at Open Door. He and Julie are leaders in the Recovery Ministry and have been faithful to this ministry for the past 3 years.
Their prayer and desire is that God will use them to help others who struggle with addictions, have a new life in Christ. This new life in Christ sets one free from guilt and the bondage of addictions.
